Three years ago we decided that enough was enough. We were tired of always having to scrimp and save, tired of struggling, and tired of never seeming to get ahead of the rat race.

We restructured our way of thinking, our style of life, and our finances.

Now we are ready to start our new life "at the edge".

Cotterochan is on the island of Westray, one of Orkney's most northern outposts. It has five acres of pasture and loads of outbuildings.

Half a mile to the west is the Atlantic Ocean, half a mile to the east is the North Sea.

Is a place to reconnect with the land. We intend to provide all of our food from our own ground.

We will reduce our damage to the planet by generating our own power and by recycling as much as we can.

But above all else it is to provide a safe, sustainable and relaxed way of living for our future.
